England cricket team won their second T20 World Cup as they crushed Pakistan in the final at the MCG aka Melbourne Cricket Ground.
English captain Jos Buttler won the toss and asked the Pakistan team to bat first.
Pakistan did not bat convincingly and managed to put only 137/8 on the scoreboard which was below par score at the MCG.
Sam Curran, England’s leading wicket-taker in T20 WC 2022, bowled brilliantly as he took three key Pakistani wickets and gave away only twelve runs in four overs.
Pakistan star pace bowler Shaheen Afridi provided the earlier breakthrough in the first over as he bowled Alex Hales and sent him to the pavilion.
England batters kept on scoring runs despite losing wickets at regular intervals of time.
Pakistan’s team was in the game till Shaheen Afridi got injured after taking a good catch in Shadab Khan’s final over.
Afridi came back on the field but started struggling after bowling only one ball in the 16th over.
Babar Azam asked Iftikhar Ahmed to bowl the next five deliveries of the over.
All-rounder Ben Stokes, holding his nerves till the end, smashed another match-winning innings under pressure in a big final event yet again.
The left-handed batter scored 52* off just 49 balls with the assistance of five fours and one huge six-over long-on on the last ball of the 16th over.
