Here’s How RCB Can Still Qualify For IPL 2023 Playoffs

The ongoing IPL season has been characterized by intense competition and may be considered as one of the most competitive in its history. With the playoffs set to begin in a week, nine out of the ten teams still have a chance to advance to the next stage. Unfortunately for Delhi Capitals, they are the only team that has been eliminated so far, having lost their playoff hopes after a 31-run defeat to Punjab Kings on May 13.

RCB delivered a power performance against the RR, beating the home team by a huge margin of 112 runs and moved up to the fifth spot in the points table, in their 12th match of the league stage against RR at the opposition’s home turf on May 14 2023 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 approaches the final stages of the league phase, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) find themselves in a precarious situation. Let’s have a look at the IPL 2023 points table and see how RCB can still qualify for the playoffs:

Currently placed fifth in the points table with 12 points, RCB have played 12 of their 14 league matches, with six wins and six losses to their name. However, with eleven games remaining in the league phase, RCB still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs. They will need to win all their remaining matches and hope for favorable results in other games to make it to the next stage.

Currently, the top four teams in the points table are GT, CSK, MI, and LSG. GT have 16 points in 12 matches, CSK have 15 points in 12 matches, MI have 14 points in 12 matches, and LSG have 13 points in 12 matches. These four teams are in a strong position to qualify for the playoffs, but there is still room for other teams to make a late surge.

RR and PBKS are both on 12 points in 13 and 12 matches respectively, this means that RCB will need to win their remaining games and hope for PBKS to lose at least one game each. If this happens, RCB will move ahead and occupy in the top four spots in the points table, which would be enough to qualify for the playoffs.

RCB will also need to keep an eye on LSG, KKR and SRH, who are on 13, 10 and 8 points respectively. KKR, LSG have played one game more than RCB, and SRH have played the same number of games. RCB will hope that these teams drop points in their remaining games, which would give them a better chance of finishing in the top four.
